Technical Information

Technical information for streaming, downloading, and playing services can be found here. Due to the rural location of the church, power-outages and internet connection issues can sometimes occur. Please read the information below if you are having any trouble with the services. If the information does not answer your question or you would like more information directed toward your specific need, please go the the contact page above and fill out the contact form.

Basic Media Information

The services at the church are saved and stored in several different formats. In order to conserve server space, many of the video files are deleted after a period of several months. However, the mp3 files should always be available for the services. Also, not all of these formats are available for each service, sometimes due to technical problems or encoding issues. Below is the list of the various formats that may be found on the site and what each format is.

Windows Media Audio (.wma) - This is a Windows-based audio file that can be played on all Windows computers and the Microsoft Zune mobile audio devices.

MP3 (.mp3) - This is a widely popular audio file that can be played on nearly any computer or portable audio device, such as iPods.

Windows Media Video (.wmv) - This is a Windows-based video file that can be played on nearly all computers and on the Microsoft Zune mobile audio device.

MP4 (.mp4) - This is an increasingly popular video file format that is often referred to as "iPod video" because it plays on iPods and iPhones. Only a few services will have this format as it is the newest format that the church has begun recording in.

The files are all available for download and the WMA and WMV files are available for online streaming. If the archived files do not work, please use the contact page above to notify the church so that the issue can be resolved. If there is a problem with live streaming or playing video files, please view the information in the next section below.

Windows Information

The Windows operating system should be ready to play all the media files mentioned above, since they can all be played through Windows Media Player. If you do not have the current version of Windows Media Player, it can be downloaded from the Microsoft website. If you are using Real Player or any other media player to play audio or video files on your computer, please refer to that specific media player's website or help section to find out how to make Windows Media files play directly on that specific player.

Apple Information

Apple computers are becoming increasingly popular as are iPods and iPhones. As mentioned before, iPods and iPhones will be able to play the mp3 and mp4 format audio and video files. Currently, iPods and iPhones do not play WMA and WMV files. Apple computers can play WMA and WMV files, but a few things must be downloaded first. Click here to go to the Microsoft website and download Flip 4 Mac, a program that allows the Windows-based media files to be played in Quicktime player. You may also need to download Perian, a program that allows Quicktime to play many other media file types, as well as WMA files.
